Although not classified as a high-performance vehicle such as a supercar, Toyota still presents 86 various special editions. The latest came from Japan to commemorate the Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno GT Apex Black Limited, the latest special edition of the AE86 Sprinter Trueno which was launched in 1986 in the number of 400 units. This special edition, dubbed the Toyota 86 GT Black Limited, echoes the look of its ancestors in a color scheme.
On the exterior, 86 GT Black Limited gets Crystal Black Silica body color combined with 17-inch bronze aluminum alloy wheels and optional bronze pinstriping. Rear spoiler also painted in black and additional undercarriage, and F1-style fog lights.
To improve its performance, Toyota completed the 86 GT Black Limited with 17-inch ventilated Brembo disc brakes and red painted brake calipers which were divided into four fronts and two rear, and Sachs shock absorbers.
Like the Toyota 86 special edition models in general, increased performance is usually not part of the change. That is, keep using the inline four-cylinder engine with a capacity of 2,000 cc which produces 204 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 212 Nm of torque at 6,400-6,800 rpm with a combination of a standard six-speed manual gearbox. Meanwhile, if using the Super ECT six-speed automatic, the performance drops slightly to 197 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 205 Nm of torque at 6,400-6,600 rpm.
Toyota will only build 86 units of the Black Limited edition which is evenly divided between the manual and automatic versions. Prices start at 3,198,727 yen for the manual version and 3,260,000 yen for the automatic version.
